Advice For Future Student

Advice that I have for future students writing a scientific research paper....hmmm. I think it is very important to pace yourself. Set a block of time everyday that you can work on your paper. Researching is very important. If you do not have good information to put in your paper; the paper isn't going to be very good. Also, these papers are lengthy so you want to make sure that  you have enough information.

Personally, I took an hour or two each day to sit down and work on my paper. Being so on top of it, I was able to take a couple days away from my paper and go back with a clear head. The editing and revising portion of writing is always be weak point. I never seemed satisfied with what I have written. Also, make sure you are writing down all of the source information that you are using information from. It always sucks when you have to go back and search for the infomation you want to use because you forgot and need it for your reference page! Well good luck to everyone! This term is almost over!

  1. Hi Ashley, 20 Dec 10

I believe you gave very good advice if a new student were to ask you what to expect for writing a solid scientific paper. Devoting time each day is wonderful. Nothing like waiting to the very last second and trying to pop out a paper - does not work like that. To achieve success is to be committed and devoted to the end result. What you put in is what you will receive back three-fold.

Thanks for a great term Ashley - it was wonderful getting to know you a little bit. I wish you great success in the future. Keep up all your hard work and keep your eye on the prize!
